I could not make the list transparent, either. But I adjusted its size and now it looks very good. Do this:
Edit config.xml and adapt line 46 like this:
< pos x="37%" y="36%" width="20%" height="20%"/ >

My user list isn't transparent either. It also stretches across almost the whole screen, which sort of ruins the whole look. Don't know if it's just me or not. Otherwise, looks like a very cool login screen.

- When I put the mouse over the arroy to login, the arrow becomes a black square.
- Clicking in "administration" does nothing.
I use Debian Sid.

same problem here on gentoo kde 3.5.4 ... tried to twek the config.xml, but with no success
AFAIK its a suse patch but the xeffects overlay for gentoo also has them

Thats kdm (kde 3.5.2) bug. You can't do anything about. Just wait few days for next kde.
Hmm, I'm using kdm 3.5.3 (Debian unstable), and I still have this problem. Is there anything one can do about this?
Same thing here on gentoo, the gray border went away with 3.5.3, but white background is still there.... do suse displays this correctly?
