oooowww this is exactly what im looking for but can't open this one. Same error here. Im working with Windows XP and Scribus 1.3.3.13.

I 've found the solution.
Working with Kubuntu, I can decide under what application a file can run.
For the .sla, the users have to go in the menu K, system settings, applications by default, files association.
Then I've to associate the type .sla with SCRIBUS
when downloading the file, the system tells me it can't read because the format isn't a scribus format.
As far as I know, the extension is .sla
I'm working with scribus 1.3.3.9 on Kubuntu
I'm in Ubuntu Gnome. When I double click the file it says that for me also. But when I left click it and go to "open with" then click Scribus it works. You could also try opening scribus and using the open dialog to access it.

I get the same error on Windows XP with version 1.3.3.12
