The redshift status icons really clash with the Faenza icon theme. To replace them with the two icons in this archive (see sample.png) do the following.
INSTRUCTIONS ------------
1. Unpack this archive with something like:
tar -xvzf redshift-mono-faenza.tar.gz
2.
FOR UBUNTU
Copy the icons into the right location and update the icon cache. That is, do the following.
Copy redshift-status-on.svg and redshift-status.off.svg over the already existing icons in /usr/share/icons/hicolor/scalable/apps/
cd redshift-mono-faenza/ sudo cp redshift* /usr/share/icons/hicolor/scalable/apps/
3. Restart Redshift (or just toggle it).
DISCLAIMER ----------
The icon's location might be different in your distro (I used Arch Linux and Ubuntu to test). The icons might be changed back to the original ones with every update of Redshift.
