Description: This is default Gnome icon theme redone in SVG. It includes some svg icons already in Gnome icon theme, and my addition includes more then 100 mime type icons, bunch of stock icons and meny more. Before someone asks "Why?", I need biger icons (my eyesight is not perfect :-)), and like spending time in Inkscape. Also, I've included iconrc file if you want to use stock icons in your gtk2 theme (put it into /usr/share/themes/name_of_theme, and add "include "iconrc"" to gtkrc file. Also, add: gtk-icon-sizes = "gtk-button=24,24:gtk-large-toolbar=28,28" if you like bigger stock icons.Last changelog:
Update includes (I hope) working index.theme file. Also, as seen on screenshot #2, I've included 4 more colour variations: Ubuntu dark brown, Bluceurve yellow, White and Blue.
I like the Gnome SVG icon theme very much.
But it seems that you forgot to include the
iconrc
file in the package. I have searched it but there was none. But this is needed to replace the Gnome stock icons which I do not like that much.
The desktop icons are too big. I changed the values in the file index.theme but nothing worked - nether setting big sizes nor small sizes. The directory icons have the correct size but all other icon types on the desktop are too big.
Thank you - looks really good.
Tip: If you only copy the white ( or whatever) set to ~/.icons and not the main iconset with the mimetypes, you get just the white theme without mimetype icons at all, it's minimalistic and has a good look and feel. (Example: http://www.go77.de/desktop.png )
I copy the icon theme to /home/my_user/.icons/, then I go to theme manager, I select it, but doesn't works, anyone could help my, I'm using Ubuntu Warty release and my Gnome version is 2.8.1, thanks
I've been having trouble to, but I'm hoary. Sometimes they load, sometimes they don't....and I don't get any output from a termianl and running gnome-theme-manager. Do you?
Try changing the directory name of the theme from "Gnome SVG" to "GnomeSVG" (in other words, get rid of the spaces)
I'm on ubuntu hoary, and this fixed it for me (and I love the theme)
rename both the dir and the Name= to GnomeSVG (no space)
change these to
DesktopDefault=48
and ALL
Size=256
They are scaled down quite a bit because they are so large and hence don't look good IMO.
do I make them smaller? I've edited the index.theme file but they get bigger :/ for some weird reason.
The only way I've be able to get them smaller is in nautilus's Preferences>Default Zoom Level and that's no fun.

I'm using Hoary, but it doesn't work for me either. :(
Doesn't work for me, neither. I'm using the latest Ubuntu Hoary. Hopefully it gets fixed. This set lookd great.
Ah. Changed folder name to 'GnomeSVG' and works fine now. But they are too large, imho. How would I make them a resonable size (for 1024 resolution)?
I don't know :( I've changed index.theme file, and they're still too large. I'm using Hoary, too.

Yeah, weird. I changed it to Size=256 and it seems almost right. Make it a bigger number to make them smaller. :P
ouch! yeah, that's crazy! I had the make the emblems size 512 to get them scaled down small enough. Thx! Can't be resource friendly though.
Pretty neat!
