Description: An partial port of the Aero theme made by Everaldo. Based mainly on NuoveXT by saki.
The GTK theme is Black http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php?content=35202 The Metacity theme is Blendish http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php?content=27002Last changelog:
21/02-2006 - Trashcan fix ---------- 19/02-2006 - Added several applications and fixed a few buggy icons.
You seem to have made it look enough like windows to get the style, but it different enough to not just be a copy. It looks good, any change of a download link?
Terribly sorry for the incredibly late response (to almost all comments). I know my hosting has died (ages ago).
I have a copy of the theme (although, even without peering into the archive, I'm guessing the theme is quite obsolete by now, and thus won't work well/at all with more recent builds of GNOME.
The link posted some time ago;
http://rs154.rapidshare.com/files/54189475/Aero-0.5.tar.gz
Still works.
If anyone has hosting, please feel free to send me/comment the URL, I'll be sure to update the "standard" link, so people don't have to wade through comments.
I hope to get back to working on this/themes again soon :)
It's sad to see a great theme lose its usefulness by becoming obsolete. Please check out and use my Mashup icon theme which is live and fresh with regular updates. Here is the link:

I installed the icon theme in Ubuntu Intrepid Ibex but only a part of the icons is being applied. For example the Folder icons are taken from another theme.
Maybe you expirienced similar problems?
How can I solve that problem?
Friend my these GNOME Icon (Aero) they are amazingly in point of fact that who beautiful I have found in collaboration with the subject GTK 2.x Theme/Style (moomex) they is too much beautiful total we thank!!!
More him I use enough time in the previous distributions Ubuntu and before 2 days that I made upgrade in Hardy I am very sad that icons is not compatible
I will request you whenever you find free time and want upgrade because to us they are absent a lot!
Be well!
My apology for English
:)
The link doesn't work for me, either. Server not found. I already downloaded it, but I think I broke the index.theme file while messing around with it, and need an original copy.
tar.gz archive is broken. I download it many times. It always is about 10MB but its broken and I can decompres ony 300KB, and of course Gnome report its broken and refuse to install it.
Please give some mirror or send this file to me (mp3forum@op.pl)
Thanks
OK. Finally I downloaded it properly :)
I don't know if author change the file or its just I used wget insted of downloading it under Mozilla Firefox.
Thanks to author anyway! Good job!
Hello, this is my first post on GNOME-look.org. I have been a Debian user for quite sometime however, just did not get the time to register with these sites.
I use both GNOME and KDE in my home. My roommate prefers KDE and prefer GNOME. Could someone please make this wonderful theme available on KDE. I do not know how to convert the .theme files for use on another desktop environment. If someone could either direct me on how to do it, I would be greatful. Before this iconset I was using nuoveXT. This iconset seems to be a huge enhancement to NuoveXT. Great work!
This is not a .theme file, this is a regular .tar.gz archieve. I will consider porting it to KDE, but I'm not much familiar with it, and I'm fairly swamped these days - but I'll give it ago as soon as I have a minute to myself.
Oh yes, one of the best. Only modification I had to do was getting rid of all the Windows logos and replacing them with the GNOME foot. Very impressive work.
I too would appreciate the standard "gnome foot" icon. To me, your theme is nice because it's an attractive icon set...not because I'm trying to pretend I'm running a different OS.

If people want it, I'd be glad to make a non-windowsified version of it. But I was aiming for authenticity :) Thanks.
The look of the icons (sans the logo) is authentic enough. Otherwise we're not runnng Windows....
