You seem to have made it look enough like windows to get the style, but it different enough to not just be a copy. It looks good, any change of a download link?

Terribly sorry for the incredibly late response (to almost all comments). I know my hosting has died (ages ago). I have a copy of the theme (although, even without peering into the archive, I'm guessing the theme is quite obsolete by now, and thus won't work well/at all with more recent builds of GNOME. The link posted some time ago; http://rs154.rapidshare.com/files/54189475/Aero-0.5.tar.gz Still works. If anyone has hosting, please feel free to send me/comment the URL, I'll be sure to update the "standard" link, so people don't have to wade through comments. I hope to get back to working on this/themes again soon :)

Are there alternate download sites for this? Both listed are down.

I have added another, faster link to this: http://homepage.mac.com/zizban/misc/Aero-0.5.tar.gz

It's sad to see a great theme lose its usefulness by becoming obsolete. Please check out and use my Mashup icon theme which is live and fresh with regular updates. Here is the link: http://gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Mashup?content=86452

I installed the icon theme in Ubuntu Intrepid Ibex but only a part of the icons is being applied. For example the Folder icons are taken from another theme. Maybe you expirienced similar problems? How can I solve that problem?

The link doesn't work for me, either. Server not found. I already downloaded it, but I think I broke the index.theme file while messing around with it, and need an original copy.

DomTheGnome

click on the download link, then when the 3 seconds thing comes up, right click on the "click here" and save to desktop.

TwoPointOh

I'm getting a Server Not Found error, same as before.

tar.gz archive is broken. I download it many times. It always is about 10MB but its broken and I can decompres ony 300KB, and of course Gnome report its broken and refuse to install it. Please give some mirror or send this file to me (mp3forum@op.pl) Thanks

GrzegorzJZD

OK. Finally I downloaded it properly :) I don't know if author change the file or its just I used wget insted of downloading it under Mozilla Firefox. Thanks to author anyway! Good job!

Hello, this is my first post on GNOME-look.org. I have been a Debian user for quite sometime however, just did not get the time to register with these sites. I use both GNOME and KDE in my home. My roommate prefers KDE and prefer GNOME. Could someone please make this wonderful theme available on KDE. I do not know how to convert the .theme files for use on another desktop environment. If someone could either direct me on how to do it, I would be greatful. Before this iconset I was using nuoveXT. This iconset seems to be a huge enhancement to NuoveXT. Great work!

This is not a .theme file, this is a regular .tar.gz archieve. I will consider porting it to KDE, but I'm not much familiar with it, and I'm fairly swamped these days - but I'll give it ago as soon as I have a minute to myself.

audidriver

Oh yes, one of the best. Only modification I had to do was getting rid of all the Windows logos and replacing them with the GNOME foot. Very impressive work.

toby

If people want it, I'd be glad to make a non-windowsified version of it. But I was aiming for authenticity :) Thanks.

angrykeyboarder

The look of the icons (sans the logo) is authentic enough. Otherwise we're not runnng Windows....

cypherpunk

I too would appreciate the standard "gnome foot" icon. To me, your theme is nice because it's an attractive icon set...not because I'm trying to pretend I'm running a different OS.
