awesome set can we get a update for GTK

Anywhere

If the author is still around I think a lot of people would love an update... If not, any one else want to do a proper fork of nuoveXT 2 with the current set of environments in-mind? (Gnome3/Cinnamon/Mate etc.)

Added to my project ;) Alex

Here is a fixed version of nuoveXT2 icon theme. http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/nuoveXT+2+fixed?content=116652 The fixed version supports the latest icon naming spec and is also highly optimized for on-disk size. This should replace the original nuoveXT2 icon theme.

Anybody know what happened to author? Is he still alive? ;) I try to talk with him but he don't reply :| BTW. great icons, except that they are not fully compatible with new GNOME.

pedrogent

these are very nice. which dock are you using?

teft

I agree... It would be nice if you update it to use the name-idunnowhat-naming-convention because some icons are missing in gnome 2.22

The best icons for linux IMHO :D There is a problem with small folder icons in newest gnome in ubuntu 8.04 :/ When could you fix this?

schlesinger

just use "ln -s folder.png gtk-directory.png" in the nuoveXT2.2/16x16/places folder v. nice icons

These icons are nice.

Good set but most of the icons are very blurry and look poorly resized, This set would be amazing if they were nice and sharp.

linuxinho

it is great really thank you regards

Hi again, you've done a great icon for rhythmbox! Maybe you can create some more icons for the play/back/next/repeat etc buttons in rhythmbox? :) Greetings Mike

bastanteroma

Yeah...play and pause icons and the like are the only things that stand out as absent in my use. Ekiga could use nicer icons too, I guess. Otherwise the first iconset good and complete enough for me to replace the distro defaults.

Hi, I've just installed the icon set. Looks amazing! Evolution looks so great. I like the grey/blue/black icons for Reply, Reply to All, Forward. Looks very professional. Keep on! Great work! Only the Cancel-Icon (the octagon with the cross inside) doesn't suit to the other round ones. Mike

any chance to release this theme in SVG?. most of the icons look like they were just resized without any optimization, making them look kinda blurry to me. if you're not going to release the SVGs then try to use symlinks instead of duplicating the same file over and over again, this might save some bandwidth :) it's a great theme though, but then again small icons don't look sharp and they lose their shape making them barely recognizable. best regards!, silvestre

Dude, I second that. That's the reason why I don't use this icon set. That problem is since its inception.

I really agree. I've asked quite a few times to get the SVGs. Saki, if you're reading please release them. I think svgs are good because 1. People can easily make icons for specific applications --> better consistency (i.e combine original icons, etc) 2. People can learn from them! 3. We can have sharper icons if we're using obscure sizes 4. It is not in spirit of GPL not to release source! They were made with OS software... Technically they are GPLd themselves

This has been my favorite icon set for a long time and I use it with nearly every theme I use. I mostly prefer version 2 over 1, but the second one does have a major flaw, imo. Specifically, the volume applet doesn't work well with dark themes, because you can't see it! I much prefer the icon for version 1.6 and not just for this reason alone. My other reason is because I don't think that the minimalist look of the second version goes well with the rest of the theme. I happen to be a fan of minimalist designs, so that has nothing to do with it, btw. Having said that, thanks a bunch for the best icon theme available!

citizenofnowhere

I've always been a fan of this icon set and this is even better! I have a question though (it could very well be something on my end I'm really not sure), but when I switched to this latest version the icons weren't as sharp as I remembered them to be. Or perhaps that's intentional? In any case - beautiful! Thanks for keeping this alive - the most versatile and complete icon set I've seen!
