Description: Tanglet is a single player word finding game based on Boggle. The object of the game is to list as many words as you can before the time runs out. There are several timer modes that determine how much time you start with, and if you get extra time when you find a word.
You can join letters horizontally, vertically, or diagonally in any direction to make a word, so as long as the letters are next to each other on the board. However, you can not reuse the same letter cells in a single word. Also, each word must be at least three letters on a normal board, and four letters on a large board.Last changelog:
Version 1.5.6
* FIXE Did not load locales with underscores * Added Russian word list * Translation updates: Italian
Been playing this for years and love it. It is the best of the Boggle games.
However, on your ppa, you have only updated Tanglet... The Tanglet-data is still set to version 1.3.1-2... It is causing Apt to crash. I know it will be fixed soon, but I thought I would let you know.
I have found that if one uninstalls previous version of Tanglet, then the upgrade works via your ppa.
The error message that briefly pops up relates to a "tanglet-data beiing overwriten, permission denied."
Obviously your install for version 1.40 includes the data file and does not install it as a seperate file as it used to.
I had not realized the Tanglet packages in Debian (and therefore Ubuntu) had split the data files into a separate package. I have updated my PPA packages to do the same, which now allows for clean upgrades from the distro-provided packages. Thanks for letting me know!
Hi. The install is still crashing ... I still had to remove it completely in order for the ppa install to work. I simply could not copy the error message quick enough to paste in here. I should have used a terminal instead of the update app.
Anyway, the message was similar to the last message, but this time it stated that tanglet-data 1.40 was being overwriten, and then the apt install crashes.
It is working now for me as well. The error message and crash came immediatly after trying to install Tanglet 1.40 (it popped up as an upgrade after you fixed your ppa) over the previous 1.40 install I had done due to the same issue when installing over 1.3.2. I have no idea why. But, I can now use the ppa to install over top of itself and it is working as you say. Thank you for the fix and the really fun (and head scratching) game. I have been playing it with my wife for years as almost a daily thing.

I can't recreate that. I uninstalled tanglet, removed my PPA, installed tanglet 1.3.1-2 from Ubuntu, then added back my PPA and upgraded. No issues.

I'm glad to hear it!
