I don't understand why you suggest to rename and copy to a system folder. i think it"s much more easy to just copy it in ~/.gimp2.x/splashes
Don't need to rename, don't need to move in a root folder, and it stays even if you need to reinstall ^^
Whatever, this is a cute splash screen I like it a lot!

i was going to link my gimp splashes tutorial on gimp stuff.org. i guess most people don't know how to do it that way. anyway, it's great!
