Available as/for:
Description:
Stunning Gnome GDM logon theme, matching Gnome Splash and wallpaper image for Linux Mint 3.x or 4.0. The wallpaper image is of my own design. This theme looks striking and professional on any recent Linux Mint distribution. It looks especially striking with the DeltaGreen icon theme, available here:

http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/DeltaGreen+icon+?content=73692

Installation:
Save the file, and right-click to extract the contents. Inside the new folder, you'll find the GDM theme (as a tar.gz archive ready to install; the wallpaper image, and the Gnome Splash.

To install the GDM theme, save the tarball somewhere in your home directory. Open Mintmenu and navigate to Administration --> Login Window. Click the tab for 'Local' then click the 'add' button. Navigate to where you saved the tarball. Click the little circle radio button adjacent to the theme's screenshot.

To Install the Gnome Splash, Open Mintumenu and navigate to 'Preferences' --> Splash Screens. This assumes you have the Gnome Splash Screen manager installed by default. This little program makes managing gnome splash screens a snap. To install it, open Synaptic package manager and search for "gnome splash". In the applet that opens, click add, then browse to the Gnome Splash *.png file. Click to highlight the file, and select 'Actavate'. Close the applet.

I should hope you know how to install a wallpaper! :-) There is only one size wallpaper included: 1440x900 (widescreen). A 1280x1024 version without the logo is available inside the extracted GDM theme (untar the archive to get at it.)

Enjoy the Theme (and provide feedback)

cmost, you always do such great work, ;)

Hello, can you give me a link to the background image that you have on gnome panel at top. Thanks!

cmost

I made it myself. You can too, provided you're using the Aurora GTK theme engine. Open any folder and switch to list view. See the new bar towards the top, just above the file list? Use ksnapshot to capture this region. Open it in Gimp and then crop it to reveal a segment of the bar. Resize to match the height of your gnome panel. Save as *.png image. Select this as your gnome-panel background. Easy! :-) If you happen to not be using the Aurora GTK engine, PM me and I'll send you a copy of the file. Good luck!

ChaKy

Thanks, I'll try this.

Whats the GTK theme and where can I get it? Its very pretty

cmost

This is the Aurora Gtk Engine. It's very sleek and professional. I've modified it to use my preferred colors; you can do the same! :-) You can get it here: http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Aurora+Gtk+Engine?content=56438
