Description: Notify OSD replaces GNOMEs stock notification-daemon and provides a more elegant way of displaying notification. This version has been patched with 'leolik's patch' which allows further configuration.
NOTE: This version no longer has coalitions with notification-daemon.
To cut ya some slack you can find a tool to configure notify-osd packaged also for Fedora 13 here: http://tinyurl.com/2dryskrLast changelog:
upgraded my box to F14 just a couple days ago... came here to install this again but it didnt work, regular (ugly) notifications keep appearing :( can you look into it?
fix the link to download. there is a problem

it works good, the changes are ok, but pidgin seems to ignore the new notify-osd. i have it with the "libnotify popups" plugin, and instead of showing the notify osd, it opens a little window with options to show, cancel or accept.
is it the notify osd, or is it pidgin? and how could i fix it? (if it has a fix)
I am not sure what is the problem. I'm not using pidgin, I use Empathy and it works fine with empathy.
There is one thing though about Notify OSD, it doesn't allow clicks on the bubble. It's only notification. Notification Daemon does allow clicks, that's one difference. Does this answer your doubt ?

works great after some tweaking, my F13 just got better, thanks a nice addition would be for it to autogen the .notify-osd file, but w/e
