Description: This script Zooms in on the planet Jupiter until its four large Moons (Io, Eurpa, Ganymede, and Callisto) are visible. It then sets a 30-minute time step, and tracks Jupiter so you can watch the Moons orbiting Jupiter, just like a miniature solar system.
The first person to make this observation of moons in orbit around Jupiter was Galileo. To him, this was a key piece of evidence that the Earth could not be the center of the Universe, since the Jovian moons were clearly going around Jupiter, not the Earth! To this day, these four moons are known collectively as the Galilean Satellites in his honor.
To run the script, simply save it to disk and unzip it, and open it from within KStars using "File|Run Script..." or Ctrl+R.
