Description: Stunning Gnome GDM logon theme, matching Gnome Splash and wallpaper image for Linux Mint 3.x or 4.0 (Daryna.) This is based on the magnificent wallpaper image "Shadows of the Waves" by Sparkledesign. Looks striking and professional on any recent Linux Mint version from 3.x to 4.0
Original wallpaper: http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php/Shadows+of+the+waves?content=70920
Installation: Save the file, and right-click to extract the contents. Inside the new folder, you'll find the GDM theme (as a tar.gz archive ready to install; the wallpaper image, and the Gnome Splash.
To install the GDM theme, save the tarball somewhere in your home directory. Open Mintmenu and navigate to Administration --> Login Window. Click the tab for 'Local' then click the 'add' button. Navigate to where you saved the tarball. Click the little circle radio button adjacent to the theme's screenshot.
To Install the Gnome Splash, Open Mintumenu and navigate to 'Preferences' --> Splash Screens. This assumes you have the Gnome Splash Screen manager installed by default. This little program makes managing gnome splash screens a snap. To install it, open Synaptic package manager and search for "gnome splash". In the applet that opens, click add, then browse to the Gnome Splash *.png file. Click to highlight the file, and select 'Actavate'. Close the applet.
I should hope you know how to install a wallpaper! :-)
