I'd really like if the pinstriping (the really thin stripes) you have on the menubar would be possible on menu entries too. I really like it, but when there are 2 different styles at the same time, it doesn't look as good.
devel is also the biggest reason gnome is far behind in the eyecandy department so...do we really care anyone prefers square because of speed? No, they can have square still, but most want round.
The rounded effect is controlled by an option so you can disable it at get the fastest engine anyway.
Remember that not always *roundness* means slow, for example rezlooks it is slower than murrine because buttons are not drawn well.
I would really like to have the choice to have the scrollbars rounded... I don't think you should remove them.
PLEASE MAKE IT AT LEAST AN OPTION.
Thx :)
for the moment I prefer to set the scrollbar in this way since all people seems to like it most. So no options (it's also less buggied with this approach)
I can appreciate the squared inside steppers and slider and rounding the outside of the steppers but, can you properly gradient the steppers so the widgets appear horizontal and vertical? A horizontal gradient on vertical looks really weird, since the slider is vertical on vertical.
Well, changing basic functioanlity and navigating to another one is a bad option (personal opinion). Just take a look at how every project tries hard to stay backward compatible
Anyways I'll have to learn Cairo if you do not provide an option and fork the engine for myself.... Gosh I'll hate that.
By the way if the code gets buggier with runtime option, how about a compile time option (--enable-square for example) - this will be much much easier to implement.
I'm trying....lookin,lookin.lookin...
And no, I don't like the rount corners. Please promiss me this - it will be configurable - ppl like me will be able to stick with the sharp edges! PLEASE!
You know why I do not like the round corners? It resembles TOO MUCH to clearlooks! Really.
You know what else, today after modding somewhat murrineNeoGraphine for the first time scince I use Gnome I feel like I have a theme at least as good as the Aqua interface! I swear! And this means you are GOOD!
You need some request when decinding what to do next with the theme? Ok here is one:
Add a focus ring for the GtkText, GtkTextView, GtkEdiatable and GtkOldEditable just like the one for GtkEntry! Please do this:) I promiss it will be easy to code.
PS. I'll post my modded theme in this site later this evening.
I cannot see all those squared themes anymore... it would be nice to have the roundedness :)
Is it already implemented in Murrine engine or do we have to wait for the next release?
I agree with lizardking: why is there no cvs or svn repository for Murrine?
No, not the round GtkScrollbar widgets PLEASE!
How about better notebook widgets huh? Like centered instead of left shifted? I'd really like that. Let me guess, it does not depend on the styling engine but on core gtk.... and still the round scrollbars are disgusting:) At least they should be optional :) Not the default or only choice!
Will it be possible to set a different value for each widget?
Like, buttons more round, scrollbar less round, etc etc...
(I hope i am not clear :P)
Anyway, it look great!

Honestly I like it, and don't care too much about speed issue if it's not terribly slow.
it is still faster than clearlooks-cairo and ubuntulooks since murrine is not using gradients.
Developer says that rounded edges would reduce the speed of rendering (and Murrine is the fastest cairo based engine because of how it's set up)

Fork, anybody?

Support for rounded edges is exactly what I have been hoping for. Keep up the excellent work, I'm looking forward to the next release.

I like the rounded look. Just not on the scrollbars.

cimi, why don't you take a svn repository like in Google code to track the recent improvements of Murrine..?
Hi, what is the wallpaper you're using in the screenshot ?? It looks nice :)
I don't like the roundness in the steppers of the scrollbars. For this style the steppers should use a style like OSX IMO.
steppers on round sliders do not look good. Concave the slider side of the stepper would be my suggestion.
Never seen those drive icons before...where are they from?
Those are the default GNOME 2.17 icons.

Well I hope i AM clear (sorry its late and I need a lot of concentration to write correctly in english...)
I like your idea and I support your idea.
