0.91.4 as AWN plugin is close to perfection only one problem - if another app (not my mouse) will raise a minimized window then that window come out without decorations. If I un-minimize a wimdow, window decorations are there ..but if another app will raise that window then windows decorations are gone. The quick solution is to minimize that window and then raise again to get back decorations. I am using Mate (Mint 17) + Compiz + AWN

I'm using dockbarx 0.91.4 in Arch by running dockx. There's a black border around the bar. Is there anyway to remove it?

rojthevorlon

Where are they?

rojthevorlon

At least I can't find one....

Everything works great on Mint 15 (Cinnamon), except the previews don't show the windows. They only show either an icon or a blank space. Any ideas?

Hi guys! Your dock it's awesome! I think in order to substitute definitively unity only one feature is missing: unity web apps!. Do you think is possible to include that in the next versions?

xpander

hey there. i was wonder if its possible to add workspace switching applet to dockbarx standalone? similar to gnome2/mate workspace switcher. thats the only thing i find missing from the dockbarx currently. other than that. thanks for wonderful dock and keep up the good work.

When closing a window on a second monitor with dockx: Quote:

Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/local/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/dockbarx/dockbar.py", line 475, in __on_window_closed dock.remove_window(window) File "/usr/bin/dockx", line 930, in remove_window del self.border_distances[window] File "/usr/lib/python2.7/weakref.py", line 253, in __delitem__ del self.data[ref(key)] KeyError: <weakref at 0x2980c58; to 'wnck.Window' at 0x28170f0>
Window closes but entry in window list isn't removed, reffreshing does nothing; full dockx restart needed.

Everything I can find about running this on MATE suggests that instructions for making it work are in the readme, but the web-page linked to in the readme no longer exists. Actual instructions in the readme, please?

Congratulations on this great project ... fantastic, I love DockBarX! Since leaving Unity and needed a panel. Thank you very much for making support MATE I have to make a consideration about Compiz: For option Dodge Windows to work properly you need to disable the plugin Gentle positioning move windows. Otherwise, when you drag the window and touch the edge of the panel, panel is not hidden, until the window is dropped... Blog article: http://lmde-frannoe.blogspot.com.es/2012/10/dockbarx-para-lmde-mate-unity.html

Revan199

No support for MATE 1.6, pity.

I manually installed dockbarx as the ppa wouldn't install, and now I want to uninstall it, how do I do that?

Hi!! I use DockbarX inside AWN and Ubuntu 10.04. It has always worked like a charm till I upgraded to v0.90. I have AWN in the bottom of my screen, so icons should be presented in horizontal, but, after upgrading, DockbarX applet presents them in vertical. Obviously my AWN is 31px height, so there is not much space to show icons xD Only two and a half icons are shown and very very small. Please, check it!! Is it a bug of the new version?? Can I fix it in some way? Thank you very much for making the best taskbar!!

Hi, I like DockBarX applet, it looks very beautiful and useful together with gnome panel. I have a tiny bothering issue with it, I use onboard screen keyboard, when I launch an application on DockBarX and after when I minimize the application by clicking icon on DockBarX, a dotted border appears around DockBarX applet. It depends on the theme I pick up. It doesn't appear on certain themes. I use AlbaCloud, I notice that it appears on themes that use colored right-click menu. A guy published a workaround for hiding gnome panel handle here http://pclinuxos2007.blogspot.com/2009/06/how-do-i-change-gnome-panel-handle.html Is there a workaround for my problem? P.S. I use natty 64 bit and I use gnome-panel Win2-7 themes Thanks

Will this app be ported to either MATE or Cinnamon? Both desktop environments are now stable. BTW I really wish you hadn't moved the news to Google+ - it's a loathsome forum format.

I'm Fusion Linux [1] project leader and while in previous versions we used DockbarX by default in GNOME 2.x desktop we can't use it as latest GNOME 3 isn't currently supported. If you manage to add support for GNOME 3 we would be proud to include DockbarX again in Fusion Linux by default. Cheers, Valent. [1] http://fusionlinux.org/

dockx the 'dodge windows' mode does not work correctly The docks are always in sync on all desktops. in the file '/usr/bin/dockx' is no entry for 'dodge windows' but two for 'dodge active window' ? The dock will be displayed only on one desktop But no problem - (openbox / lxde / lubunntu rc file) Thanks for reading ... I hope my English is an English ;-) (google helps) attached screens, one with conf (lxde) http://ge.tt/8CVQL1B

Is it possible to use DockbarX as an applet in the GNOME 3 Fallback Mode Panel? (Alt+Rightklick) Great Work!

vishal733

I'm trying the same. But don't see dockbarx applet option in Gnome classic mode on Ubuntu 11.10

mpnordland

Hey, I don't know if this has been asked before, but are you going to add window previews for Gnome-shell?

Hi, I can't seem to access the preferences, whether it's through the Applications menu, the Properties button when right-clicking on the dock itself, or through the console (dbx_preference.py). When using the console, I receive this stack trace: Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/bin/dbx_preference", line 2046, in <module> PrefDialog() File "/usr/bin/dbx_preference", line 219, in __init__ self.popup_style = PopupStyle() File "/usr/lib/pymodules/python2.7/dockbarx/theme.py", line 382, in __init__ self.on_style_changed() File "/usr/lib/pymodules/python2.7/dockbarx/theme.py", line 407, in on_style_changed elif self.globals.default_popup_style in styles: AttributeError: 'Globals' object has no attribute 'default_popup_style' I am using version 0.48 (from webupd8's ppa) in Ubuntu 11.10, with GMOME Classic. DockbarX itself works fine, either as a standalone dock (dockx) or an AWN applet. I also have dockbarx-themes-extra installed. Thanks in advance.

InverseHypercube

I fixed this by deleting /usr/share/dockbarx/, and uninstalling and reinstalling DockBarX.
