My first stab at a splash screen.

Features icons from the Amaranth Altheae icon set: http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=9781 with a simple, almost Crystal-like background (no idea what I was trying to do...)

Made and tested on FreeBSD 5.3 running KDE 3.3
