do not extract the files! make sure you have moodin installed, then go to your system settings, appearance, splash, and select the COMPRESSED package. This should install the splash screen
Good stuff buddy. It's your original work and the amount effort gone in to it is evident. As far as the inspiration is concerned I feel that the artist is free to take it from any source. If someone takes inspiration from MS and comes up with something better than MS it's ok.
Really nice. I'm having a bit of trouble running the splash screen in 1680x1050 on my 22" WS though. Tried editing theme.rc and/or background.png. Still 1/3 of the screen is black. I still use the wallpaper though.

I can't get it to install :( I went into appearance - splash, clicked add, went to desktop, but the zip file doesn't appear for me to select

Can you post the background image by itself without the dialog box?

Please use tar.gz, so users can easy import this theme via KDECC
Why one more Windows Vista style? There is enough in M*crosoft Vistaself mode IMHO :)
