Description:
Based on fake screenshots of unreleased BeOS 6 -- the prototype was called GONX, hence the name here.
Last changelog:

Added slick looking focus-rect, splitters, HLine, VLine, etc.
Made better use of QColorGroup such that odd-colored buttons/page-backgrounds, etc don't look awful in the toolbar and whatnot.
Cleaned up almost every drawing mechanism to reduce flicker and in general be faster.
Fixed various off-by-one pixel errors, wherein things looked "OK" but not "right".

Nice. Thank you.

I'm using it together with the 3d no more (or so... :) ) window deco and it just looks great!! I really like it. Continue your great work :)

Hey...what's that gr8 font on the desktop???

zakariya

I think it's called Wedding Script or somthing along those lines. Shelley Andante is very similar. Both, however, are essentially unreadable. I wouldn't use it unless you tend to have a clean desktop.

Nice work, I like your style very much. I'm using it with the 'Summer' color theme, also from kde-look, and Mwm window decoration - it looks GREAT! Thanks for making this wonderful theme. NB for the other people who posted on it: the window decoration _isn't_ part of the theme. You can use this theme with any decoration / color scheme you like (it just happens that I really like the Mwm decoration). My only complaint is that on some color schemes, the difference between a checked and unchecked radio-button isn't always that obvious - that's hardly the fault of the theme though, and it's easily corrected. Anyway a question. I used the last version of your theme, is it all right to do a straight # ./configure && make && make install on this one when I've downloaded it, or should I first # make uninstall my original GONXstyle theme - or would it make no difference? Thanks.

Thanks for the support! I too, btw, love the MWM theme. Mainly because it reminds me of the old days, back when I started programming in college, using exceed (Win32 X server) on windows to get a remote unix desktop. It ran mwm, and I have fond memories... Anyway, just doing a "make install" is sufficient. There's only one library, and it's the same between GONX .7 & .8.

Okay, thanks for that info. I've had problems in the past with upgrading themes, sometimes they need their guts ripping out before I can install the new one! Not so in this case. :) I do not have any fond programming memories because I've never written a line of code in my life - I like mwm because it's clean and clear, I love that 'chunky' look. Coupled with a nice bold font for the taskbar and a good color scheme, it's lovely and very very usable (problem with some themes / decorations is that while they look l33+ as hell for five minutes, they're just not usable over a long period). Keep up the great work with GONX. :)

>>while they look l33+ as hell for five minutes, they're just not usable over a long period I completely agree. I find a sort of feng shui (spelling?) in a clean desktop -- no bubbles, no metal, no crap. Just clean, concise, and happy. I guess it's just the 14 year olds trying to impress their friends with desktops that look straight out of hollywood ;) I bet they think that if their desktops look confusing, full of dark colors and cruft everywhere their friends will think they're hackers!

This is really pretty - I'm using it now with the kstep window theme, and it looks great.

I think its a great style, and it do not look like CDE, maybe you mean that the window decorations look like CDE, and thats true.

anonymous-hive

This looks like a variation on CDE..ewww..even Sun is droping that old motif look. :(

anonymous-hive

The only CDE-ish thing I see in the screenshots are the windows decorations, and they are not what this theme is about, I for one really like it! Great work!

zakariya

What's wrong with CDE? The first programming job I ever held was on an old sparc running *open windows*, writing assembler for set-top boxen in vi. I would have begged for CDE ;) And mind you, sonny, I'm not an old man. I'm *24*
