Now you can trick your grandmas even more into thinking shes still running her windows98

I made this for personal use with my little XP project so yea, I'll prob. get some ms flame threds but hey.. atleast you have a hi-quality IE icon now... eh?eh?

***NOTE***
The Thumbnail sample has a black background but the actual image is transparent. Guess thats how kde-look opens it.

I love Linux, but I also use IE as I use Office XP running under Codeweavers. Linux is about freedom and this Icon symbolises that. ALso it's good to convert people to Linux, when they see my system with this familiar icon they are more comfortable to try a Linux based system. Great work
So you've managed to install IE? I tried to do so (I've got wine) and had no luck. I think part of my problem may be that I don't have the full package. I've been (trying to) run(ing) the installer that dowloads most of the compoments and then proceeds to install them. Guess I need an old CD......
just if s.o read this question for IE and hadnt solved it until yet (there will be some reason for people to come here for an IE-icon): It works fine with the native XP .dlls in the wine-odirectory and the "native, inbuild" option. have a nice day.
Oh,- dont forget to install only IE (No additiona fonts, no Mediapayer, or anything else!)
I can't understand why it's at 29% - it's really good, and perfect for new users moving away from Windows.
There are many of us who do have IE running well and as bad as it sounds, I use it for my Credit Union. Some porny sites work better too but we won't talk about that here, will we?
Why would you want KDE to look like windows? With the amazing range of possible looks, windows does not seem to be worthy of attention. Nice work on the icon.... but I see no use for it.
To trix0r my grandma into thinking shes running windows. Offering a familiar GUI to a basic basic user will present less of a 'struggle' to learn the new software. This icon was made for her and other friends and family members Im trying to convert, Im simply sharing it with the rest. They could care less about whats going on behind the curtains, they simply want there ebay, email and web. It is most certainly taking a step back Microsoft
K, cut me off... What I was saying was, Even tho it's using a familiar gui style, it's taking a step back from Microsoft and there Proprietary licensing scheme. Rather saying there is no use for this, Simply say you don't like it because there IS use for it. :)
I just don't see what is so hard about learning a new icon.. but if they really like the MS icons....... then I suppose it has a purpose. Cheers
I have the same problem - my family finds linux 'difficult' because it has other icons, so this icon will be of great use, thanks.
I bought CrossOverOffice from Codeweavers and since they support IE 5.5 it is very handy to try some designed websites in IE 5.5 as well in Mozilla. So I see a use for this icon .. Therefore thank you ... grtz' Fab
I like the way you think no use for an IE icon in KDE make some Mozilla or netscape icons....
