Well, conectiva8 is already out there (or to be more precise, here, on Brazil) and comes with crystal.
So I don't know if conectiva will keep crystal pravate for their users, or as free for all.
I tought at this time everaldo would already have posted something here...
The kde-prefs rpm which contains the crystal icons is licensed under GPL according to the spec file.
