CDE icons
Source (link to git-repo or to original if based on someone elses unmodified work):
Description:
This is a very basic set of old-school looking icons for use with the CDE theme. It gives a very "antique supercomputer" feel. By the way, these icons purposely suck. Some of them I found on the net. Some I drew in gimp in about 20 seconds. And some didn't even take that long. Before you vote this theme into exile---just remember that this is only for fun. Lets all remember the computers that most of us never touched
Last changelog:

This is a revisit to my CDE oldschool icon set. I extracted most of these from a public domain CDE screenshot. Some are originals. This set works very well with CDE style and Solaris color.

I love CDE!
As Wichita falls... so falls Wichita Falls
Please make that icon set complete! It remebers me to my beginning with linux - fvwm or fvwm2 with icons like yours... It was so nice to leave that ugly windows 98 folder (and other) icons behind.I can remember the nice package icons of the Redhat rpm manager :) Today everything is so 100% designed and almost blue - more like windows. So the good old icons and CDE style is refreshingly different. It gives the good feel to have something special - a real "expensive" unix workstation... :) I hope we all can rediscover the beauty of the good old days...
I've often had trouble with KDE themes on Mandriva (Theme Manager themes not loading, installed styles not showing up in KControl, etc), and this may be just the latest one, but most of the icons in this set aren't displayed; rather, their Crystal SVG theme counterparts are.
Make sure to build the icon set first. Simply extract the folder and run the buildset script in a terminal. Answer the kmenu question and viola---it will contruct an icon set that is about 3.5mb. Then you install it using kcontrol.
thanks! maybe that will teach me to read the README
