Hey, did you already saw latest Oxygen Team iconset? Folder icons pretty sucks!
I myself have already some work regarding customized 4.6.2 icons, if you're interested in adding new custom folders to 4.6.2 iconset let me know.
What I did to replace the folder icon using Dolphin in KDE 4 was to:
Right click on the folder.
Select Properties.
A new window will open and from there click on the folder icon on the top left side of the window.
Another window will appear. Click on other icons, then press browse and select the new icon.

Nice icon, but you forgot to add how to install this. How do I use it to replace the default dropbox icon?
