Description: After compilling kde 3.3 with construct I have those strange "?!" next to the letters an also colouring of some letters in german language. Compillation of kde-i18n-de went well! Had the same problem already with the beta version. If anybody knows a solution, please help me. Thanks!!!!!!
This happened to me on an install using konstruct. However, I think it was caused by the fact that it seemed to build against my existing version of QT, rather than the newly compiled version. I never found a solution. I now have kde3.3.0 installed via rpm. To be honest the difference compared to kde3.2.3 isn't significant to be worried about upgrading (imho).
Matt
But bugs.kde.org is your friend :)
For this you have to know that these keys are called 'accelerator keys'
Here is the bug:
http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=88903
Try to change your kde style from keramik to another. If you can't do it via kcontrol, use an editor and change this line in .kde/share/config/widgetStyle=xxxx
you could enter widgetStyle=plastik
I hope this helps you ...
Thank you so much for your help!
It works but,if somebody has the same problem, you have to remove or rename the old .kdetest or whatever is your kde-directory first.
When you log in kde next time you have to change to another style(already with the wizzard!!!!!).
Everthing looks great after you do this trick.
I use plastik now.
I compilled Baghira, but after I changed to it the same strange thing happened.
So I want to figure out a way to use another style or window decoration without having those stupid "????!!!!!"
If anybody else has an idea,it would be great!!!!!
