Description:
For those of you new to KDE, here's what it was like in 1.x days. This is the desktop a lot of us fell in love with.

Of course, this shot is a little Slick-ified. )

This one isn't up for a popularity contest. I'm not trying to compete in a "who's got the best looking desktop" contest (don't rate it as such). This is just one for reminescence, a pause to look at where we are and where we came from.

Ahh....remember those days? Remember the anticipation of KDE2?

What font are you using for the desktop?

It's "Impact". I think it came along with Arial and Verdana, fetched and installed by SuSE's fetchmsttfonts script.
