Description: Here is KDE 3.2 beta1 with Keith Packard's new X server. It has OSX-like compositing capabilities that allows things like drop shadows, real transparency, etc..
The X Server's URL is http://freedesktop.org/Software/xserver
and there are more screenshots of it at :http://freedesktop.org/~keithp/screenshots
I've read a lot about Freedesktop's new XServer, lately (on both OSNews and Slashdot)... Those guys are putting together some pretty exciting stuff. The combination of their project and KDE could make for a Linux desktop experience that rivals that of Mac OS X. I can't wait for it to go mainstream! BTW, great desktop!
Hi man ... how do you have put the kmenu button and the pager in your menu bar on top of the screen (i really want know how i could do it).
i want know too about the pacement of the tabs in the konqueror browser ...
Please tell me about that ... Is this a improvment of KDE 3.2 version or this feature too is avaiable for KDE 3.1 users.
See Ya ...

In KDE 3.2, the menubar is an applet, like any other applet.

The tabs in the center is available for anybody who runs Qt 3.2.x, including KDE 3.1.4 users. It requires the widget style to support it though. I just modified Baghira to support it.. it's less than six lines of code =) (I just uploaded the patch at http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=8894 )
The Moz-like close and new buttons on the tab bar are a new feature in KDE 3.2 (default).. the Galeon-like close buttons on the tabs are also a new (optional) feature in KDE 3.2.

What's the performance/stability like of this new server? Any install issues? Is it network transparent? Matt
