... well serves me right for responding to the comment before reading the changelog up there :) the colors and fonts settings in kopete options fixed my problem, thanks for the tip! the question about telepathy still stands though.
i've been using this for months, pretty perfect. the only thing i was wondering is how i might change the color of the actual incoming and outgoing messages?
Thanks! :) To change the colors, you would have to edit the main.css file (in Contents/Resources). The .incoming and .outgoing classes define the hex colors for the text. You can replace these with your favourite colors (you can use a color picker like http://www.colorpicker.com/ to find the hex values for the colors). Hope this helps, Cheers.
OK, I added a variant where the message text is displayed in colour. Let me know if this is what you wanted. Cheers.
thanks so much for taking the time to add the variant. the thing is, and i explored the code before i asked, i can set the color of the text of the message *i* am sending in .message (color...) that works color specified in .incoming and .outgoing relates to the color of nicknames, not the text of the message itself but i can’t figure out how to change the color of the text of the incoming message (that’s also not solved with the variant). it’s always very dark, #000 i’d say. that’s not the default colorscheme for fonts on my system either, i don’t know where that’s drawn from. with the rest of the theme so subtle in colors i wanted to change that.. also, do you think it would be possible to use this theme with telepathy?
Hi, I think the color of incoming messages is set by the sender (i.e. the person you're talking to). You can tell Kopete to ignore this (and use the theme's color) in the Color & Font settings (see the change log for details). Not sure about Telepathy - I have not used it but could have a look when I get some time.
