As it's evident from both the highest rated and most-downloaded contributions' list, most of gnome users are desperately trying to imitate Mac OS X beautiful interface (and who can blame them?).
In my case, I've tried to make it look like a Mac OS 9, legendary also and with a different kind of beauty... hope you'll like this!

2- Mac Mosaic classic,
got it from my Mac disks, I cannot publish them as it's proprietary software.
Metacity Theme:
"Classic", found in

GTK 2.x Theme:

ICON SET:
So far, it's the famous the Tango icon set... which obviously isn't quite a match...

I've looked for some icons from the Mac OS 9 or look-alikes, but no results.. maybe some of the fine artists out there will take this as a project!

Comment please!
Note:
I uploaded this as a screenshot because I'm NOT the author neither of the gtk style, nor the window decorations.
SO I DONT TAKE ANY CREDIT FOR THEM.

Great style plasmatron. It's nice to see oldies around here, especially with the more recent content & concepts. malwk - the font is Chicago.
The font used in the screenshots for application menu and desktop is "pix Chicago", which is a Chicago look-alike which can be freely downloaded at: http://www.dafont.com/pix-chicago.font for a more detailed list of the Mac OS 9 fonts, see (for example, but not only) http://swissmiss.typepad.com/weblog/2006/02/apply_typograph.html Thanks for your comments!
Good, it looks nice, but a) what is the GTk theme b) what is the metacity theme c) what is the system font we are supposed to guess or what Just paste the links to the content if possible please. This will make more ppl happy tan just lookin at your desktop.
putting the links in the description, I think, doesn't breach anything, especially since, I think, these are already on gnome-look. Instead, putting the links to everything in the description is a good act as we then can all know what you use.
Ok, thank you for your comment, I respect what you said. However, I don't share your opinion. Even though everything is in gnome, the links are useful in order to save users' time looking for them. I didn't include them up-front, because I didn't think anyone will be that interested; but I'm doing it now. So as you say, this is the good act I'm performing today. Hopefully, this will get me to heaven! :) Wallpapers used in screenshots: 1- "Barber shop", found in http://www.gnome-look.org/content/show.php?content=32282 2- Mac Mosaic classic, got it from my Mac disks, I cannot publish them as it's proprietary software.
