Description: Well, this is my 1st app in www.kde-apps.org. I always wanted to convert video and audio in an easy way but i didn't find an app to do that. Its based on kommander, mencoder and ffmpeg and you can convert from/to any format supported by those programs. Well, I hope that it will be usefull for you, thanks for all.
Hi
I noticed some of the dialog was in Spanish, so I translated it to English and explained the dialog plates for better viewing under high resolution screens.
I left the results on http://home.earthlink.net/~arklinux-cpx/RainbyteVideoConverter-BQ.kmdr
In case you want to check it out.
Thanks for the app,
BQ
I have a friend with a Sandisk Fuzz, but can't find a converter so he can watch videos on it.
Would it be possible to add a default profile for this device and other sandisk devices that are said to be linux compatible by the company? I'm asking all the video converter devels, in hope that someone will consider it.
We would greatly appreciate it.
Video Container: Fully interleaved AVI
Codec: MPEG-4 (Simple Profile level 1 or 2)
Bitrate: Up to 512 Kbps
Resolutions: QCIF+ (224x176)
FPS: Up to 20 fps
bitrate:128kbps
no. of channels:2
sample rate:44100khz
but lagging much in functionality e.g. .rmvb format can be played by mplayer if codecs are installed properly from mplayer's host website. Please support all the formats mplayer support. Multimedia Converter (http://kde-apps.org/content/show.php?content=53610) supports these, however lacking in some aspects (e.g. resolution control). If your app supports all the formats, undoubtedly it will become a great app.
Also, as it is mentioned in previous posts, if all you developers collaborate, it is more likely to have an outstanding output...but anyway, it depends on feasibility also.
Thanks anyway for trying it out and I am hoping to see it improved and supporting all the formats as that of mplayer.
good luck!!
Hi to all!!
Well Zeeuw Ill add more video formats, only tell me what do you need.
Mmm, I tried a lot of apps to convert video and audio, but I had a reason to begin with this app: I have an mp4 player (birthday) and I couldn't convert video with any app, because of the options (I needed options like quant type).
Well, Ill add a lot of things in 0.02, but I need to know what do you need/want.
Thanks to all, bye...
P/D: Where are you from Zeeuw? Im from Argentina (thats why my english isnt good, here we speak spanish). Oks, bye
Hi,
Divx is the most important codec that's missing, i think. I would like to have support for matroska files (mkv) too, because i always download prison break in that file format, and i can't play it on my cowon iaudio a2.
Something else that needs improvement are the resolutions. The maximum resolution is 640x480. Support for HDTV would be nice. (720p and 1080p) Maybe you can make it possible to choose a custom resolution so we can type it by ourselves? You could do that for the bitrate settings too.
What i think the cd/dvd tab is doing, is that you can convert for example a xvid movie to a dvd. Am i correct or not?
There are some little things that are needed to be fixed on the about tab. The text field is not big enough, so there are some letters missing (it says converte in stead of converter)
I'm from Holland by the way
Bye
Hi,
Your program looks really nice, though it needs a lot more file types to support. It would be nice if you didn't use a terminal but a progress bar (if that's possible at all)
But why do you start another project while there are 2 other projects who try to make the same app? Why don't you guys work together and make 1 great program to convert all formats and change all settings. I don't really know which one to choose right now. ;)
The projects i found were:
KVideoencoder, Kubuntu Multimedia Converter (an improved Multimedia Converter which doesn't have that much buttons)
Please go on and improve your program,
Good luck
P.s. sorry if i don't type correct english
Hi to all!
1st I will answer to abdelrahman:
well with that app you can only convert, not change resolution, not bitrate, not frame rate, and the other options.
now to yoho:
mmm, yes is Lindsay Lohan (one of my favourites singers), i found the wallpaper with google, i dont remember exactly the web, and i renamed the image.
Well, thanks for your opinion
See you later. Bye!!

Where's your background image coming from :p ?
good , but what is the difference between your program and this program : http://kde-apps.org/content/show.php?content=53610 ?
It looks much nicer and is not an overload of buttons?
