this is a frontend for various cli videoencoder tools I have made because I wanted something, that let's me quickly convert videos from konqueror without typing 3-line-commands in the console.

Features are as follows:

- Batch Conversion

- It let's you save profiles of your settings for later re-use.

- service menu for konqueror and d3lphin (only kde3 at the moment)

- The gui will generate the commandline, so you can review before executing

I'm using it for myself quiet some time now and found it very useful, so I thought I'd share with you. Hope you like it.

Nice App, thanks for the sharing. I'd also recommend Acethinker Video Converter which I have used for many years. It's a free web-based application to convert videos, you don't have to install anything.

JackHair

It doesn't work on ALL distro's, try it on a pure 64-bit.

I would stick to iSkysoft Video Converter as usual. It never fail me. http://www.hd-dvd-ripper.net/video-converter.html#139

bugmenot1234

Hum, iSkysoft converter is not a kde app at all, not even portable on linux. Your comment is absolutely pointless.

Excellent application! It would be great to add a tab to paste .srt subtitles with mencoder. Bye!

can someone delete my last 2 posts? reloading the page reposted my initial post.

really good app. i like it very much. some issues: > if this app is under the gnu public license where is the source code? > _please_, please, double-please omit the "save output dir" option!!!! i guess it would have deleted my home dir. thank god i didn't unchecked it. ok, so i don't know if it does what it says. but again, please omit it! > some of the presets in the .hyperconf file do not work, eg. "xvid-mp3-good quality" gives following output: http://pastebin.com/m22aae3b1 same with the other xvid/divx presets. > when using ffmpe2theora the settings tabs take very long to load. i don't know if it's only my pc or a general issue > the processing window has no window-decorations > when saving a preset with a already existing name, it does not overwrite the existng one. this would be useful, or at least a question dialog, if one wants to do so. btw, i love the command window. with some work this can become a "default" video encoding app for linux. ps: is this app really written in pascal (you say so on the sf page)?

the "save output dir" option does not delete anything, it will just save the path of the output directory in the config-File, so you needn't select one again, when you startup the program next time. I will probably replace this with a combo-box, to store the whole history of output dirs, as soon I have finished the settings dialog. Quote:
> some of the presets in the .hyperconf file do not work, eg. "xvid-mp3-good quality" gives following output: http://pastebin.com/m22aae3b1 same with the other xvid/divx presets.
Ok, I will fix this in the next release. The problem here is, that ffmpeg comes in so many different versions and configurations (for most people the profiles should work). In the meantime you can help yourself by just selecting the sample rate in the encoder-settings dialog (that's what it complains about in your output) and save a new profile. But I will improve the preconfigured profiles in the next release. Quote:
> when using ffmpe2theora the settings tabs take very long to load. i don't know if it's only my pc or a general issue > the processing window has no window-decorations
could you give me some more infos about your configuration (distribution - kde/gnome/other ? - graphics card - compiz yes/no ...) Does the gtk2-version show the same problems ? Quote:
> when saving a preset with a already existing name, it does not overwrite the existng one. this would be useful, or at least a question dialog, if one wants to do so.
yes, I agree. Will add a question dialog in next release. What the programming language is concerned: pascal/lazarus attracted me because its lcl can be linked against all common gui frameworks (even windows api and mac carbon) without changing any code. However, some of the bindings still have serious problems, the missing window decorations probably being one of them. I'm regretting my choice a bit, but I'm gonna stay with it...

nvm, found the code ;) and this app is truely written in pascal. quite unusual.

Hi! Beautiful utility. The app works fine, but using it in Ubuntu-Gnome-Compiz there's no window border-title bar. With Metacity everything's allright. Any ideas about? Thanks

almatic

is this the only app with this problem ? Did you use the qt or the gtk version ? If you used the qt, can you please try the gtk-version please. http://gtk-apps.org/content/show.php/Hyper+Video+Converter?content=88970

dizzzy

I use the QT4 version it's the only app with this problem (in my system: x86intel/ATI radeon 9800 with proprietary drivers/UbuntuStudio8.04/Gnome...what else?). The GTK version works fine (thanks). Thank you

The SuSE-.rpm does not work: 03:53 hoppers:/home/kalle/hypervcrpm-qt4 # rpm -Uhv hypervc-0.4-linux-2.6-intel.rpm error: Failed dependencies: libqtcore4 is needed by hypervc-0.4-0.i386 libqtgui4 is needed by hypervc-0.4-0.i386 The requested packages do not exist for openSUSE (I suppose they're simply named differently, on oS there is 'libQtCore.so.4' in 'libqt4', so the dependency should be libqt4 instead). Yet the generic script works perfectly, and hypervc is a useful little thingy, very nice. I *would* have preferred it to be installed in /usr/local/bin though, but well... I really like the 'create command'-button. I'm looking forward to post endless commands in forums in case someone asks how to convert a .h264-clip with flac-Audio to a .xvid with .mp3 and a custom sample-rate, haha. :D So... thank you.

almatic

I have made a new package, according to your feedback, with libqt4 as dependency. The old one is now a mandriva package, I think (hope) it will work there. Packaging for linux is really a pain... thanks for your feedback.

MaQy

Hi, I can't download the program :(, could you please check the links in gtk-apps? Thanks.

almatic

Hi, I have checked and they work for me. Can you please try again and see if it works now ? If not I'm gonna host them somewhere else.

lodi

It works. But the window opened for dialog is at maximal height and not adjustable. Also I can't close the application. I have to kill it... I use openSuse 10.2 and the latest KDE 3.5.9 version release 53.3.

almatic

Quote:

well, that's because I have packed a lot of widgets in the dialog. I have taken care that it can be used on a 1024x768 resolution (that's probably what you are using), but it fills the whole screen there. On 1280x1024 it's ok and on 1600x1200 it's just the right size. However, I am planning to outsource some widgets in other dialogs, then the main dialog will be smaller. Quote:

you mean the close button and the "x" in the upper right corner have no function for you ? I'm not able to reproduce, does anyone else have that problem ?

miq

Really nice kommander script and really intuitive to use.
