I have installed it and it appears in the configuration dialog, but no bookmarks show up when I search... I am running KDE 4.9RC2. Is it compatible with KDE4.9?

gcala

Thanks for reporting. I'm inspecting the problem: seems that it doesn't load settings anymore and it is very strange since anything was changed in 4.9 about runners. Hoping to issue the error asap.

This plugin conflicts with fsrunner. The problem lies in the SQL connection. Both this runner and the fsrunner use the default name for the sql connection. That crashes my krunner in KDE 4.9. This may be the problem. Please see the website below: http://code.google.com/p/fsrunner/issues/detail?id=32

Thanks reporting this bug. Uploaded new version fixing this and a KConfigGroup bug. Now it seems working as expected.

Versioning of the archive and a CHANGELOG would be nice. Don't know whether I have build an RPM for 0.2.3 or 0.2.4. m0nk

In order to meet those users who have thousands of bookmarks whose search can slow the workspace I've added a "trigger word" (like in chromium runner): it is a word (customizable in runner settings) that must be typed before search terms. The default trigger word is "bfb", so if you want to search, say, "wikipedia" bookmark you need to type "bfb wikipedia"; you can disable "trigger word" in settings and search among firefox bookmarks as before current update. P.S. Chrom* stores bookmarks in a json file, while firefox in a sqlite file, so requirements are different.

Thank you for the answer. Anyway the runner doesn't work here. No results show up when using your runner, neither with nor without bfb as prefix. FYI I'm using KDE 4.9.2 on openSUSE 12.2 and Firefox is 15.0.1. The built-in runner for bookmarks gets hits by the way. m0nk

gcala

You're right! You can check version pressing info button beside runner settings button.

bitcrazy

Forget the other comment. It doesn't work. Results came from the built-in module. Just saw it, because of the icon not matching. Saw in the Chromium bookmark runner thread, that libqson is needed. Same here?

bitcrazy

Yep, but then is it already installed. I need it before to build proper packages. Without a version in the filename, it will be overwritten. Apart from that, it works fine. But what is meant by trigger keyword "bfb"? m0nk

rthomsen

Any news on getting it to work on KDE 4.9?

lnxusr

I installed the correct .deb, but it doesn't show up in the plasmoid widget listing.

gcala

It isn't a plasmoid but a krunner extension. To enable/disable it open krunner (ALT+F2) and click the wrench icon. To use it, open krunner and start typing bookmark name.

Where do I find sources for version 0.2? The linked sources are still 0.1.

Url fixed

Hi I installed your runner, which works fine, but I do not see the box for a trigger like in the screen shots. It's true I'm using Kubuntu 11.04 with the 10.10 package, but everything else is working fine :) Any thoughts?

Brutus180

The trigger box has appeared with the 0.2.1 realease.

Thank you so much for making this software. Does it read SQLite (places.sqlite) files or JSON? I wish to have a bookmark manager which is built upon GTK or KDE or Qt and to manage my bookmarks outside of the slow Firefox so that I'll use only WebKit browsers like Arora, Jumanji Konqueror :-) Can you arrange some people to do it?

gcala

Konqueror already comes with a runner like this...

jummy

I had no idea about it! Gotta install KDE again...

jummy

How do you pronounce and spell your name in English Giuseppe = Joseph or Josepha? Calà < How do you pronounce that special à? I want to add it to the .po file.

gcala

Leave them unchanged

jummy

My plan was to translate the name properly and to write the real name in parenthesis.
