it looks promising.
atm it is not that powerful, that i can use it (reloading the apt-cache, adding/removing sources, versioning and stuff should be implemented)
however, if this continues, maybe it can implement even more goodies as synaptic does.
I wish it had some kind of progress indicator to show SOMETHING was being done during the actual unpacking and install of the debs.
If a package requires interaction with the user during it's configuration, will Kynaptic pop up a window so you can do this??
David
Thanks for this! And with a possibility to purge the configuration files (as a uninstall option) and a more detailed package information (complete output of "apt-cache show") Kynaptic would be perfect :-)
Keep up the good work!

This may be a KDE program but unfortunately it's functionality pales in comparison to synaptic.
Synaptic is a Gnome application. It is Kpackage on KDE and Kpackage work very good on debian

I want the description of a package to be visible or, at least, the ability to enable it ;)
My version has that feature. All I have to do is move my mouse pointer over a package name and a brief description pops up as a tooltip. David
The short description is shown : I WANT THE full description to be shown (see apt-get!)
