Hello Is there somebody maintaining kalternatives ? Is this project still alive ?
Working fine with the Kubuntu 9.04 except the graphical frontend to the sudo (kdesudo) doesn't work with the kalternatives. Sudo does, as told at the INSTALL file. Maybe a kdesudo bug ? There are not error messages when launching with the "kdesudo kcmshell4 kalternatives" at the konsole.
Running Kbuntu 9.04 with kde 4.2.2 I get "kcmshell(9793): Unsupported distribution for KAlternatives." error on command line. App opens up but the Groups box is empty.
You didn't specify your distribution when compiling with cmake. See the INSTALL file for more details.
First time I used Ubuntu for the type. Tired again from clean package with Kubuntu. Same results.
You should pass -DKALTERNATIVES_DISTRO=dpkg as additional parameter when running cmake. In case you have run cmake already, remove the CMakeCache.txt from the build directory, and try again.
Ahh.. I was reading it wrong. I thought I was supposed to use the distro name as the type. Works now..
Works fine with KDE 4.2.90. It should be incorporated in KDE !
Files in the source archive got some persmission related issues (i.e. doc/en is not o+x). Do you have plans for adding support for creating/removing alternatives? Editing currently existing ain't sufficient I'm afraid. I've created debian package with kalternatives. It shall be available on http://debian.neo.pl/
I keep gettting the message that it only works on MDK and Debian. However I'm running Mandrake. No error messages on the command line just the popup window that says it only works on the above distro's.......
way cool man this looks nice and it actually works ;-)
