Hey, this program looks really nice, but just like someone else said, it only catches keys for a couple of seconds then freezes. Is there anything I can do? I would love to use this for some videos teaching screen/vim.

Hi,
I've been working on cyrilic support but isn't finished.
About KDE related problems, I'm not a KDE user but if you want you can add a bug report about this on Launchpad https://bugs.launchpad.net/screenkey/+filebug
Maybe a KDE developer can help us.
Thanks BrunIF
$ screenkey --debug --no-detach
DEBUG:Screenkey:file /home/nykeej/.cache/screenkey.dat does not exists.
DEBUG:Screenkey:Thread created
DEBUG:Screenkey:Thread started.
DEBUG:Screenkey:Using StatusIcon.
# Opening opening some dialog via menu
# No reaction. Screenkey freezed. Killing
What distro of Linux are you running?
Because I found a bug like this https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/315456 related to xorg and python-xlib.
If you can post your versions, maybe I can fixed.
Thanks!
Hi nenelinux,
for the moment, there is no repository for Ubuntu. But in the project page https://launchpad.net/screenkey/+download you can find packages (.deb) for Ubuntu/Debian.
Thanks!
Does not work with other keyboard layouts :( For example if I try to type something in Russian, screenkey outputs the corresponding English keys.
But the program is still nice :)
Hi d1337r,
I'm working on this bug, there is a report on Launchpad about this https://bugs.launchpad.net/screenkey/+bug/591434
If you can attach the output of 'xmodmap -pk' that would be very helpful for me.
Thanks!

Cyrilic symbol is not supported. And programms work little bad on KDE (kubuntu 10.04)
