Thanks for setting up something that looks like or very similar to WinVis! i've been looking for something like this to show my friends who are still Win holdouts and who still like Win because it is "pretty" as they say... and something like this will show them how configurable Linux really is! i haven't downloaded this yet. i'm running Freespire 1.0.13 so i hope it works and will post back.
The menu looks more like XP than Vista.
How did you get the little preview box working (above Amarok) on the panel menu?

Vista is ugly. Linux' graphical environments have this '+', that they are not Windows-alike (don't say about XPde).
The real plus for Linux graphics, specifically KDE, is that they are HIGLY customizable which is clear after taking a look at this screenshot. If you somehow like vista's appearance you can have it OR you can choose one of the n different graphic combinations that exist
How many distros have you come across that come out of the box looking worth a crap? There is a few...not many though.
Debian looks like crap but then they've not been concerned with looks. Frankly I don't care, because I never use a Distro's default theme anyway.
You're the first person I've come across that's said that Vista is Ugly. That's taking Microsoft hatred to extremes. You want Microsoft Ugly? Try Windows 3.1 through Windows Me and the "classic" theme in XP. Now those are ugly. Vista has style and elegance. Granted they ripped of much of it from Apple, but then OS X has style and elegance as well.
