I'm now running KDE4 without a panel. It works quite well and allows full screen to be utilized. Application switching: just push mouse to upper left corner to see apps running System tray, Menu and clock: put them on the desktop A couple improvements that would make more functional would be to activate "show dashboard" with the mouse instead of Ctrl-F12. Something like mouse to the bottom of the screen (or corner) to activate dashboard.
Hi, I have a question: is there a way to change the properties of the panel? I mean, size, position, auto-hide etc. like in kde3? I'm using kubuntu 7.10 and I have installed the package as written in the kubuntu web site, it works but I cannot find where to change that panel :( Another question: is it possible in kde4 to have the menu-bar on top of the screen (like the Mac OS style)? Thanks, Luca.
I'll add that you can still launch kicker on top of plasma (or gnome panel ou xfce or ... panel) if you whant a panel but the plasma one.
