cool idea but why don't use an image with no background color?
for example this image over here https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:NewTux.svg
doesn't have a background and is also scalable svg format
and i'm sure if you do some search on the other small Penguins you will find a one without background color that will fit on the green background that you're using
