Installation tips:
sudo tar xf plymouth-theme-placidity_10.2.tar.gz -C /usr/share/plymouth/themes

sudo chown -R 0:0 /usr/share/plymouth/themes/placidity

sudo plymouth-set-default-theme -R placidity

I updated the theme and I dropped some installation tips as well.

This is nice and works great, but in order to make it work with newer versions of Plymouth (or just Ubuntu?) you must change: ImageDir and ScriptFile to /usr/share/plymouth/themes/placidity/placidity and /usr/share/plymouth/themes/placidity/placidity.script respectively. Again, nice theme.

Installation instructions:

  1. copy YOURTHEME folder to usr/share/plymouth/themes/YOURTHEME

  2. run in terminal:

sudo plymouth-set-default-theme YOURTHEME -R
