Note: Since Gnome Shell 3.32 some things have changed.
Latest version (2.3) is for Gnome Shell 3.32 and you must use a panel transparency extension with this version.
Look below for my suggestion on useful extensions
! If you have an earlier version of Gnome Shell you should use version 2.2
**************************************************************
My intention is for Carapace to be a different kind of theme. I have been trying to take as much advantage of the different states of gnome-shell as possible, my wish and attempt has been to make the desktop diverse and alive.
The result is a dark and stylish desktop, with a dash of eye-leading coloring, which is using one of the most awesome fonts ever - Lato.
!
If you don't yet have Lato search for "ttf-google-fonts-typewolf" in your package manager or go to: typewolf.com/google-fonts ... Or just get it here.
-- If you download it then extract the archive in:
~/.local/share/fonts
Note: There are two variants available. One with the original Slim Dock and a new Pantheon-ish Dock.
- Screenshot
::: Installation :::
Method one:
1) Extract and put Carapace in either
~/.themes/
or ~/.local/share/themes/
2) Select Carapace from Gnome Tweak Tool
Method two:
1) Pick the downloaded archive directly from within Tweak Tool and it'll extract and do the rest for you.
::: Required Extensions :::
- User themes
- Dash to Dock
::: Useful Extensions :::
- Dynamic Panel Transparency
-- Because transparent panel is awesome (only required with version > 2.3)
- OpenWeather
-- Because while the Gnome weather-program is cool, your location might not be there.
- Mconnect
-- Any KDE Connect user needs this :-D
- Custom Corner
-- Creates more freedom
- Blyr
-- Adds blurred background for the Overview
::: NOT Recommended Extensions :::
- Carapace (version 2.2) has a built-in responsive panel. So an panel-altering extension is not needed, and for the full experience not recommended whatsoever.
::: Other than that :::
- Have fun and rate it up if you like my work... Or Pling me... Or buy me a cup of coffee: paypal.me/hackan301
:-D
Enjoy!

Hi, how did you get your dots to widen with more instances open? I can't seem to find that option. Also my date/time on th etop bar is blue but yours is white. Is this intended? Love the theme though looks great with wallpapers
The widening of running dots should be automatic... Let me check back to you regarding if there's an issue with the theme on GNOME Shell 3.32. I am in the middle of updating the whole Carapace Family. That also answers your other queation: The date/time is not supposed to be blue. It is an issue that came with GNOME Shell 3.32. I will upload an update to fix that (and some other issues with 3.32) tonight. Thanks for your feedback! :-)
Thanks, I managed to find the value in the CSS to change so it matches with the rest now. Thanks again and I look forward to the update

This theme looks very good. I'm looking for a gtk theme to use with it. What gtk theme are you using? Thanks.
If I am not mistaken I am using Arc Darker in the screenshots. It works pretty well together with Carapace :-)
I really, really like this theme... Its super polished! except there's one small problem. I hate the colors green and blue, and I know hate is a strong word. Do you think that in a future version of this theme you could make it so that people can customize the colors by editing a config file or something?
I'll try to come up with something. Been thinking about maybe making a graphite version for a while.
9 +Very good quality work. Dynamic border effects looks good on my wall papers. I have not checked on a wide range yet. But very good work. Good future for GNOME
Awesome! Thank you for that comment - Appreciate it :-)
