i suggested in a servay to songbird that they should use the opera engine cause its faster than the firefox based engine. other suggestions i posted was to add the xfade to the player as well as a better way to play the highlighted songs. example is: when double clicked on a song its highlighted now when the song is done the next starts and is left not highlighted and should actually be highlighted as the play list continues.

i think the cross fade would be more important and as for widgets what did you have in mind. take the ideas to songbird and let them know your ideas. also if you click the view tab you can use the main view or the mini view of songbird. how bout a widget called midget player that is small like the mini player window just like amarok does.

Songbird is the best alternative to Amarok right now. It gets better with each revision. would love to see it with crossfade and maybe some desktop widgets.
