Recently, a couple that I am very good friends with got married on the other side of the state. Several of us managed to make the five hour journey to Philadelphia for this joyous event and everyone took pictures. This is where things became a little ridiculous. We all wanted copies of everyones' photos. Having a day job as a pharmacy technician places me at a rather modest level of income, so printing all of these images was just to financially exhaustive.

Suddenly, in similar fashion to when Archimedes discovered a method of determining how much of King Hiero's golden crown had been alloyed, I was screaming, "Eureka! eureka!".

I decided I could just get them all posted on the web for less then ten bucks (American) per roll. Then, I would just download them all, make a nice html design for navigating them with thumbnails, and burn them onto a bunch of discs for all.

Since I was going to go this route, I decdided I should make the discs look professional. The problem that this led to was not being able to find a nice cd labeling program for use with Linux (the only operating system that exists within my humble abode). In traditional Linux user fashion I was not to be detered by this. I went out and bought some cheap cd labels (Memorex brand), pulled out a ruler, and started up OpenOffice.org Draw. Within a reasonable span of time I had created a template for use with OpenOffice.org Draw to make labels.
