Description: A GFXBoot Grub theme (like SLD 10) for Kubuntu, mixed up from the 'official' SVG icon (https://wiki.kubuntu.org/KubuntuArtwork) and inckie's wallpaper (http://www.kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=42881)
Requires GFXBoot to be installed (see here for ubuntu derivatives: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=208855) . Once this is done, this theme can be unzipped and placed into the grub directory and linked from menu.lst (add 'gfxmenu /boot/grub/message.kubu' to the top)
Please note, be careful when playing with Grub files - without a LiveCD or some kind of recovery disk, it can really make things difficult if things go wrong.Last changelog:
Great!
That's just what I need.
But...
How can I make my own theme?
I have already a mockup with my logo and my bg image, but how can I transform it in a "message.xxx" file for gfxboot?
Thx!
Fair point.
The ubuntu font is nice indeed and long ago I installed it on both machines I use everyday...
But, in this case, I thought it was no match for Kabel (the font used in the KDE Logo, which is why I chose it).
First: That's exactly what I wanted! And thanks for considering my wallpaper elligible for that... ;)
Second: I'd just point to a little visual bug: the hole of the top right gear of the big logo is filled with white... I thought you might want to change that.
Third: I couldn't make it work... I followed all the steps in yout how-to, but ended with a black grub... any tips? (I don't have access to my box right now, so I'll be able to check for a typo only tomorrow)
Fourth: And thanks again!
1) Its a beautiful wallpaper and I've linked your original post on here and in the ubuntu thread..and mentioned your uid on both times :)
2) Thanks for pointing that out - it shouldn't take much to fill it in
3) Did the message.suse theme work before you tried this one?
4) NP, thankyou! :)
Hi Lava, I did put a link in for the Ubuntu derivatives (2nd paragraph, 1st line).. not sure about other distros (aside from SuSE, where it comes from) - try your repos and your favourite search engine. As its a SLD thing, I'd imagine that the source is available from Novell.
Hope that helps

you blew it with "Kubuntu" in a "Non-Kubuntu" font... $sudo apt-get install ttf-ubuntu-title

Where can I download GFXBoot? (I just need a URL, either that or link to it on this page. No rating from me.)
