I downloaded but i only have one colour this weird green which is the default i suppose. How do i change the color? Mind you i do not know how to use scripts.
This link will explain how to change folder color, just replace Papirus-Dark with Validus https://github.com/PapirusDevelopmentTeam/papirus-folders#script-usage To change icon color look at the change-color.sh script in the folder. There are plenty of websites that explain how to use scripts much better than I can here.
I 've had a hard time making it work. I wanted the green because i use forest theme. I found a little script: find /usr/share/icons/Papirus -type l -path '*/places/*' \( -ilname '*-blue-*' -o -ilname '*-blue.*' \) ! -iname '*-blue-*' ! -iname '*-blue.*' -exec bash -c 'echo "icon: $0"; link="$(readlink "$0")"; echo "link: $link"; newlink="${link/-blue/-green}"; echo "newlink: $newlink"; sudo ln -sf "$newlink" "$0";echo' '{}' \; You just change the green with whatever you like. You can try this and give it to people so they can uses and make their life easier. Hope this helps!

Thanks.
Thank you for this most wonderful theme! I have an eye condition called Photophobia, and this theme is the best I have ever used to get around it. I am now changing all my devises over to Validus: GTK3, Gnome Shell, and Icons. You are my hero!
Request MX tweak icon, disk manager icon,Mx idevice mounter icon, windows wireless drivers icon, and MX time settings icon. Oh and the MX tools icon and ADSL/PPPOE Configuration icon. All these go inside of xfce settings for MX-Linux.
It sounds like MX uses their own naming convention for naming icons. Point me to an icon set I can download and do some comparisons.
I added/renamed some icons to adhere to their crazy naming conventions. I downloaded the iso just to see what the cions looked like and what the applications were looking for. The default icons are pretty hideous. Let me know if this corrects it and gives a consistent Validus desktop. If it doesn't I'll explain to you how to correct it in the future.
