Hi. Nice splash, but I have a problem: the KDE Plasma and Linux For Open Minds appear at the same time. When I Preview in Appearance, the KDE Plasma comes first, and after it is gone, the Linux For Open Minds appears. But when actually logging in, the Linux For Open Minds appears faintly, then the KDE Plasma comes over it, then beneath it Linux For Open Minds is full opacity. Is there something I can edit in Splash.qml? I see timings for the 2 entries but don't know how to edit it. I am running Kubuntu 22.04.1 LTS x86_64, Plasma 5.24.7, Kernel: 5.15.0-53-generic, if that helps. Thanks in advance!
Thank You OzzyFrank! I did update. I don't know how much I succeeded. It all depends on the operating system lifting speed. There will probably be better on slower computers.
Hi. I replaced 1.0 with 1.1, but unfortunately the problem persists. I even tried seeing if changing display managers would do anything, as after the SDDM login screen it takes about 10 seconds before the splash shows, but it's the same after logging in via GDM3 and LightDM (both the black screen for a few seconds before the splash, and the 2 bits of text being shown at the same time). So there's nothing I can edit in Splash.qml to fix this, like in the Timer section or something? Thanks for your time. (PS: and yes, I have a fast PC!)
UPDATE: this works as expected if you log out of KDE, then log back in again. So the problem only persists when you log into KDE when starting up.
9 9 excellent! Thanks very much!
Thank You, pgameiro!
10 Is it possible to change the image/ text easily by myself?
Hi nishchal, Thank you for the rating. Yes, you can change both the image and the text. Image: Dolphin (Show Hidden Files) .local> share> plasma> look-and-feel> org.kde.KDE-Plasma-LinuxForOpenMinds.desktop> contents> splash> images (set the background you want, but be named: background. png) Text: Dolphin (Show Hidden Files) .local> share> plasma> look-and-feel> org.kde.KDE-Plasma-LinuxForOpenMinds.desktop> contents> splash (open the Splash.qml file). Lines 141 and 168 are for text. Write whatever you want. Greeting,
Thank you :)
