Thanks Charlie. I know I haven't been on here but I still am catching your stuff. I check it around every two days or so. So if you were gonna spend some real cash on a Linux compatible lappy it would be a System76 ??
Certainly would, very nice machines. They just released a new model and it's insane or at least can be ordered to be insane. I appreciate your support man it means a lot.
If they were to release a model with a glossy screen I would buy one tonight because I cannot stand a matte anti glare screen. That is the only reason I do not own one myself.
Did you see this? Your a Lenovo guy https://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2019/06/lenovo-thinkpad-p-series-ubuntu-preinstalled
I would love to have one. I like dell and lenovo simply because i have owned them both and had good luck out of them but I do want something that is very compatible with Linux. I would love to have one with linux preinstalled for sure but they are so high and really they have NO reason to be that high. About 1000 is all I will spend or I hope so. I just want something with at least 8th gen processor and a PCIE ssd drive. I have a sata ssd which is quickly going out of date.
I am partial to Dell and a $1000 bucks will buy a nice top notch Dell. That M2 sata stuff is nice man, super fast..
M2 SSD stuff sorry
First thing I would do is jerk Ubuntu off there. I guess if that was the only distro I would just use windows. I can't stand Ubuntu. I have tried it in nearly every form or fashion. To me Ubuntu is way way harder to learn and work with than Arch. Arch has and will always have the best documentation on stuff in there wiki so if you need to know something it is just right there.
Yea those are the P line. They are super nice and super expensive. Work computer for like video and photography stuff. Hold up to 64 GB of ram.
thay want 2000 thousand dollars though for the same exact things I can get a dell for 1000. I want a 15 inch but i am trying to find me a laptop with amd graphics because from everything i can find the AMD graphics is the way to go in Linux. Amd works with opensource and Nividia does not.
