Ultimate-Plata-Dark Complete Desktop [more color animations]
Source (link to git-repo or to original if based on someone elses unmodified work):
Ultimate-Plata-Dark mixes indigo, and shades of gray with bits of red, royal-blue, and violet. Ultimate-Plata-Dark supports Gtk+ 4x, 3x, as well as Gtk+ 2, and a multitude of desktop environments like Gnome Shell (and Flashback), Xfce, Mate, and LXDE, with Cinnamon coming soon. The original Plata theme designer (who also created Adapta theme) too offers theming support for Firefox (via FirefoxColor test pilot), Gedit, Plank dock, Telegram, and TweetDeck. Geany text editor theme is provided now provided in a separately installed theme right here.
The GTK, xfwm4, openbox-3, and GNOME-Shell theme represents a careful blending of Material Design refresh elements, with an overlay of the precise Plata theming hues.
Every element of this well-embraced theme package was re-built from the ground up, via this current 2.0 version, to address any issues which have arisen over the lifetime of the theme. Chiefly, the Budgie radio-button/check-box issues have been wholly resolved in the Material format. We are glad to hear UPD has been performing well on most systems.
Usage:
Ultimate-Plata-Dark reduces the luminance emitted by device screens, while still meeting minimum color contrast ratios. It help improve visual ergonomics by reducing eye strain, adjusting brightness to current lighting conditions, and facilitating screen use in dark environments – all while conserving battery power. Devices with OLED screens benefit from the ability to turn off black pixels at any time of day.
Conserves energy:
In products that require efficiency (such as devices with OLED screens), conserves battery life by reducing the use of light pixels.
Enhances accessibility:
Accommodates regular dark theme users (such as those with low vision), by meeting accessibility color contrast standards.
Uses dark grey - rather than black - to express elevation and space in an environment with a wider range of depth.
Color with accents:
Applies limited color accents in dark theme UIs, so the majority of space is dedicated to dark surfaces.

Manual Installation Is Easy:
For themes: 1) Extract the "tar.xz" file into your "~/.themes/" folder - to install for current user only - or into the "/usr/share/themes/" folder - for the theme to be applied globally. 2) Use the GNOME Tweak Tool or an equivalent app to enable it for your desktop.
If installing manually, make sure to install the dependency: "Murrine theme engine" if you do not already have it; and update your GTK+packages if you have not.
For icons: 1) Extract the "tar.xz" file into your "~/.icons/" folder - to install for current user only - or into the "/usr/share/icons/" folder - for the icons and folders to be applied globally. 2) Use the GNOME Tweak Tool or an equivalent app to enable them for your desktop.
When installing the Geany text editor theme, put the unzipped file in your home directory at: ~/.config/geany/colorschemes (create the 'colorschemes' directory, to mimic previous directions, if it doesn't yet exist )
Logging out and then logging back in may be necessary on some operating systems to fully implement themes and icons.
23-11-24: Version 2.1.2
This update colors the shell's hovered over text under each app on the landing page. The App Grid's "hover" text now renders a slightly brighter hue of the Ultimate-Plata-Dark's accent color. Replacing the original off-white text here aims to beautify the user experience while differentiating between the static, hover, and active elements of this function. Commit: 55c98c7

Thanks. The tar archive has a bug; there's a whole Ultimate-Plata-dark folder within itself. It doubles the archive size.
@fblais, thanks for catching that - extra directory removed and now the amended/corrected tars and zips are: "2.1.0-b." For users, anyone who is using the original "2.1.0" version can choose to do nothing or download the new "2.1.0-b." Either way, nothing will change on your end, visually or performance-wise - the old file is just bigger for no good reason.
My pleasure! I'll try your theme tonight. I'm not a big fan of dark themes, but this one seems interesting.
Thank you! Very nice!
10 Very nice, consistent and doesn't get in the way of the user!

10 10 the best - bumping to a 10 for bringing it back!
Hey, you're updating the greatest theme again, hooray!
Ah, my first theme when came over to Linux. Great to see you guys are still keeping this classic up to date, I think I'll use it again for a while. Thanks!
9 9 excellent
9 9 excellent Beautiful. I am a bit confused. The "Less indigo" version looks exactly the same as the standard dark version. The only other issue is not being able to see the radio buttons. This happened to me using Solus budgie and also on Fedora with XFCE.
Thanks for the input. I'll see what I can do about the radio buttons on those two desktop environments. The thing with these GTK-wide themes is they are geared up to be be a one size fits-all deal. Everything is based on the latest GNOME 3x, and then geared down from there. I may be able to find a way to make them all play nice with those radio buttons though. I'll get to them by the end of the week. The Less-Indigo theming is a big deal on GNOME and Cinnamon, where most of the menus are deep indigo without the switch - and to a lesser extent on some of the GTK-3 apps. Take care.
Hey, Thank you.

10 Very luxurious
9 Excellent theme. One bug I found is that, on Ubuntu Budgie, in the check boxes in the top panel, in the battery menu, the check marks to show the battery percentage are invisible.
I'll see what Ubuntu Budgie is up to with that plugin-app ASAP. There are so many individual plugin to keep themed correctly; I really appreciate you keeping me up to speed here.
10 10 the best Gruvbox like. There are not much themes like this.
I'm glad you think so; and thank you for the continued support!
