If you are a fan of that some applications are bright while others are dark, then this is for you!
This tweak gives you a new desktop menu item (when you right-click the application/running icon) from which you can manually change Spotify to use the dark variant of your current theme.
::: Installation :::
1) Extract the archive
2) Open a new terminal in the new directory
3) Drag&Drop (or however you like to run it) the Setup.sh
4) Follow instructions, state your password and you're done
::: About :::
It works by updating Spotify's existing .dektop-file (it also backs up the original, so you can revert it back if you want) to one with an added action-entry.
It is fairly straight forward if you want to do it manually, just
sudo cp
the file which corresponds with your Spotify installation. But for the sake of convenience I made a shell-script which automates the process.The only draw-back with this solution is that it is not persistent. Every time you relaunch Spotify it will use the light variant of your theme, so you have to hit that menu once each time you launch - Hence I didn't add any button to switch back to the light variant.
- If you get troubles running the Setup.sh double check that it has the right to be executed as a program.
Let me know if you run into any issues with the setup - Otherwise Enjoy and give me a thumbs up if my tweak just made your day :-)
