Description: Desert
Made by Paulxfce
This is the first theme in which I tried not to use white and grey, but a muted yellowish-dark-brown color palet. Designed to be light, crisp, and simple, this theme is thoroughly built and tested to provide a nice desktop environment.
The theme only provides a GTK3-theme, with dark-support, and a matching gnome-shell. It is built for the Gnome-DE.
Updates
40 Added two colored (blue and teal) themes with support for gnome 40 and GTK4 1.3-B Added one theme with support for XFCE 4.16 , with basic GTK2 support (see last screenshots) 1.3 Major refinements and polishing to make it perfect. Introduction of new colors. 1.2 update to correct padding in nautilus pathbar 1.1 update gives two new accent-colors (orange and purple), matching gnome-shells and a solid (non-transparent) version of each variant. So now there are 12 themes to choose from.
Important:
This theme is developed for the gnome DE. It works on GTK3.22 to GTK3.29, and GTK3.32/34/36/38, NOT GTK 3.30. There is no support for other DE's and Gtk-2.0. There is, however one theme with XFCE(4.16)-support (and GTK2) available
How to install:
Download the theme of your choice
> Desert-Teal-Blue > Desert-Teal-Blue-Dark
> Desert-Green > Desert-Green-Dark
> Desert-Orange > Desert-Orange-Dark
> Desert-Red > Desert-Red-Dark
> Desert-Purple > Desert-Purple-Dark
> Desert-Brown > Desert-Brown-Dark
> Desert-Yellow > Desert-Yellow-Dark
> Desert-Blue > Desert-blue-dark
Just copy the extracted file to a '.themes'-folder you make in your home directory. Then use the Tweak Tool and select the theme.

Those are gorgeous. I tried Desert Blue Light 4.0, Desert Yellow and Yellow Dark and Brown Dark 1.3. Only Blue Light 4.0 seems ok but the others shows the height of the lines in list view of Nautilus unstable, some lines are higher than others and I couldn't determine the reason.
10Gorgeous! However, I can't get the dark shell theme to work for calendar and power menus on POP!_OS. My workaround was to use POP's dark shell theme and use Desert for applications only. This is still really beautiful, so I don't mind too much, but I wish it worked for me everywhere.
10I was longing for a light theme that is not white or gray. This theme is absolutely gorgeous.
There is any chance to make it for cinnamon enviroment? I use linux mint, so it does not work, only on ubuntu T.T
9It's a lovely low-contrast counterpart to the higher-contrast and less beige GNOME Professional theme!
(Please continue support for Xfce and GTK 2 on a no-patches basis if you don't want to be involved. Sporting gtk2 theme is the best way to support qt5 seamlessly. Also, it would be more convenient if all the themes were in the same folder so I don't have to reassemble my own copy that can support all the things.)
The window buttons seem very small with higher DPI settings.
In gnome-shell 40.5, the running app indicator dot on the dash is dark blue on dark grey, so it's very hard to see. It doesn't look correctly styled. Could it be made brighter? I'm using the teal variant here, for parity with the GTK2 release.
I am experiencing a problem with click drag selection of files where the selection box is opaque. Not sure if this is a problem with the theme or my system.
9This is a really nice theme. Are you planning on bringing support for the other colors version on GNOME 40 as well?
By the way, I find it annoying and don't know if it happens with somebody else, but when I hover stuff like the side bar on Nautilus, the entries might get highlighted even though the mouse isn't hovering them anymore.
10Congratulations on thema, I like the brown of the Desert orange, there are 2 things that can be improved.
1 - maximize, minimize and close buttons, disappear when the screen is out of focus.
2 - Nautilus at 50% of the list size is strange.
I hope to be contributing and thank you very much for thema.

Should mention that this occurs within the Thunar file manager
Are you using Desert-Teal-Blue-XFCE-1.3? That's the sole variant with XFCE support methinks.
9 9 excellent More support for xfce and gtk2 would be needed.
9 The best. But can you make sure that all the applications have perfect rounded cornor at the bottom ?

8 When opening more than two tabs in gnome-terminal, the tabs exceed the window frame to the left, any fix?
https://i.imgur.com/ihrpmo0.png It's just 1px but it REALLY messes with my head at the point I open up multiple windows instead of using tabs.
