what you see in my screenshot is one full-size panel. the background is transparent. the task-manager itself expands within the panel, filling the empty space.
yes, when the panel is full, the individual task buttons shrink
but the screenshot is a bit misleading because it is a very low screen resolution (just for demonstration purposes)
with tasks from the same application being grouped i would have to have about 10 different applications open before that happens

So, if you have many icons the tasklist will stretch, right?
