Description: Fairywren is a free and open source SVG icon theme for Linux, based on the Papirus Icon Set The goal of this project is to provide a modernized take on icons a little inspired by the move to more gradient styles in other packs, while keeping the material feel.
=== Branding Inspiration === The icon packs name and branding is inspired by one of Australia's native birds: the Splendid Fairywren. I loved seeing these strikingly blue birds on my morning walks down the Torquay beach front. I was never able to get a good photo of them as they moved too fast for me to capture one. as a photographer and avid bird admirer i thought this beautiful bird deserved to be represented in my work. This is a great icon theme, but it breaks Software Centre on Linux Mint Cinnamon. Programmes and buttons are not displayed, the GUI is very slow. Linux Mint 21.3., Cinnamon 6.0.4.
Hello MintCondition,
Thank you for your feedback. I’ve conducted several tests on the version of Linux Mint you described, but I was unable to replicate the issue you’re experiencing. After some research, it seems that the problem might be with the software manager itself.
Have you considered using Gnome-Software? It’s an excellent alternative that supports both APT and Snap.
If you’re interested in further investigating this issue, I recommend logging an issue on the GitHub page for MintInstall. Please include a description of the problem and any logs from running MintInstall. This information could be crucial in identifying the root cause of the issue.
