Corn marigold is a vigorous, branching plant that grows up to 1 m tall, usually on nitrogen-rich soils. Leaves are about 10 cm long, deeply to shallowly lobed. The seeds are of two types: those of the inner disc flowers are cylindrical and wingless, while those of the outer ray flowers are broad and winged.
