Does it work on the Flatpak version of VLC as well if so how do you apply it do you just randomly load it from anywhere or place it somewhere in the config ?
Firstly, Thanks a lot for your comment.
In fact, I never tried Flatpak. and I hate Snap so much. I still prefer the old school of PPA from trusted source.
But your comment pushed me to install Flatpak and try the Flatpak version of VLC.
Although it cost me about 1.2 GB from my Data package to just download the VLC files (thank you), but I really enjoyed the task, especially, I got an impression that the Flatpak's VLC is a little faster. I think I need more time to get a final judgment.
Oh, I forget, about the skin, I didn't yet discover the VLC skins folder to put my skin in. but I tried another solution:
- open "Files" and show hidden files.
- go to (Home > .local > share) then create a folder and name it "vlc" then open it and create another folder and name it "skins2", to be like this:
"Home/.local/share/vlc/skins2"
- move new skins to "skins2" folder then close "Files".
- open VLC, go to "tools(menu) > preferences"
- in look and feel section, click "use custom skin"
- click save and EXIT VLC.
- open VLC again, it will be in the default old skin.
- right click on VLC, then choose "interface > open skin" and browse for the "skins2" folder
- choose the skin you want and click open.
- that's it. when I find another solution, I will edit this comment.
hope you like it.
Thanks again.
